TA-10073 PAK: Subproject 6: Strengthening Gender Capacity of Pakistans National Transmission Company

ADB contracted Semiotics Consultants (Pvt) Limited to implement gender mainstreaming activities in line with the Gender Action Plan for the Tranche 4 of the Second Power Transmission Enhancement Investment Program in Pakistan. These activities are covered under the Technical Assistance Subproject 6: Strengthening Gender Capacity of Pakistan's National Transmission Company. Specifically, it will help address the limited participation of women in technical and leadership positions in the NTDC by promoting a workplace environment with equal opportunities for recruitment, skills development, and professional advancement of female personnel. It will also integrate community-based skills development for women as part of the NTDC’s gender-responsive sustainable business practice. 

Services Provided

The TA team is conducting the following activities:

  • Inception report, Conducted Gender diagnostic on NTDC including gender dynamics and onsite facilities and submitted a detailed report and Formulating a Gender Equality policy
  • Technical Training Need Assessment and TNA report 
  • Design and implementation of a companywide behavioural change campaign
  • Design and conduct Gender sensitization and mainstreaming training
  • Design and conduct Technical Training program and pilot internship and scholarship program
  • Train all NTDC personnel involved in managing the internship program 
  • Conduct community livelihood training need assessment
  • Conduct two community-based capacity-building activities
